We were invited to experience the 2020 Tanaka Farm U-Pick Pumpkin with Wagon Ride with the OC Mommy Blogger Tribe and had so much fun! This was our first time visiting the pumpkin patch here and we didn’t know what to expect. At first I thought the wagon ride would just be a ride to the pumpkin patch, but there turned out to be so much more. Below is all the information you need to take your kids on a Pumpkin Patch Wagon Ride at Tanaka Farms and what you can expect.
The first thing you need to do is make a Reservation for the U-Pick Pumpkin with Wagon Ride online at https://www.tanakafarms.com/. I would suggest arriving 10 minutes earlier to line up with your group. This is an one hour tour experience.
Things to bring include your mask (this is required here), a hat (since there is no shade the entire time) and snacks for your kids if needed.
The wagon rides starts with a tour around their beautiful 30 acre farm lead by one of their friendly tour guides. We learned on this tour that Tanaka farms grows quite a few fruit trees and plants such as strawberries, apples, peaches, oranges, nectarines, plums and sugar cane. We also saw sunflowers (currently in season). On the wagon tour we met some of their farm animals (donkey, goats and pigs), and saw a scarecrow contest exhibit (Including a Poppy and Elsa scarecrow!). You’ll be able to watch the launch of a pumpkin cannon as well as see the decorated pumpkins at Pumpkin Alley. The tour ends with the opportunity to pick your own veggies (turnip, carrots, cilantro) and of course the highlight is picking your own pumpkin at the pumpkin patch!
If you’re wondering how you’ll be able to carry all your pumpkins and veggies, don’t worry. There are plenty of wheelbarrows to help with the task and bags were provided for the vegetables. Wow, so much was included in this one wagon ride ticket. We were so impressed and highly recommend this tour.
Tanaka Farms has implemented Covid-19 precautions such as requiring face masks, implementing temperature checks and reducing the capacity of people on wagon rides. There is also the option of a drive-thru pumpkin experience.
