Did you know that there’s a cute private farm in Rowland Heights called Little Parrot Farm?During our vacation break, we formed our own small group and visited Little Parrot Farm for a farm tour. We’ve been here during two different seasons, Summer and now Winter. Each time we saw different plants and vegetables in their garden and learned so much about them. Their little petting zoo is exciting, you’ll love the variety of animals you see there.
The tour first started with seeing the vegetables and flowers in the garden area. The highlight for the kids was tasting nectar from the hot-lip flower. They can’t get enough of it! Some of the crops we saw this time were, green beans, broccoli, tomatoes and turnip. There was also a cute pizza garden area with all the necessary ingredients needed in a pizza. Next, Rosa (our tour guide) also brought us to see larger crop production areas as well as into a green house to see how spinach sprouts grown in the winter can be kept warm.

The last part of the tour is visiting the animals. This is definitely a treat here since they have a variety of unique animals not usually found at a farm such as alpacas and desert tortoises. They also have bunnies, pigs, a goat and chickens. We were able to feed the animals and play with them freely while taking a lot of pictures. The animals seem to be very well taken cared of and are not afraid of people. It’s also fun how they can interact with each other well.

This farm is so adorable we’ll definitely be back often. The farm tour is $10/Adult, $6/Child (3~12 years old) or purchase an annual membership card for $30. You can find more information at https://www.littleparrotfarm.org/tour/.
