We’ve been reading a few new Children’s titles from Simon & Schuster’s and picked one in particular, “Sisters” by Jeanette Winter for our next feature. I was interested in this book just by looking at the title since we have three girls at home and fostering a good sister relationship is a long term goal for me as a parent. I was looking forward to this book showing a close sister relationship between these famous tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams.
When I read the book to my girls, it definitely had all that I expected but it also touched upon so much more. These sisters are not only close, they are determined, persistent, hard working and strong. I was not only inspired by their life journey but also by their parent’s actions and roles in raising them. Our son is an aspiring tennis player, and this book is great for him too.
This book now has a permanent place in our family bedtime story collection. Although we are highlighting the “Sisters” book, we also want to bring your attention to a couple of other new titles from Simon & Schuster’s that we have been reading and really enjoy. You can read the summary of all the titles below.
